RYFT Bikes / Our story

DON'T CHOOSE A BIKE.
BUILD YOUR OWN.

RYFT Bikes is a Norwegian project started by two 17-year-old riders who have grown up with cycling, trails and the constant search for a better setup. We are building RYFT because cycling is what we care about, and because we see room for something different.

Maximilian Puntervoll Pedersen

Maximilian is one half of RYFT. He has grown up with cycling and spends a lot of time riding, testing bikes and thinking about the details that change how a bike feels on the trail. RYFT grew from that passion and the idea that riders should have more say in what their bike becomes.

Sander Sørum

Sander is the other half of RYFT. Cycling has been a big part of his life, from riding trails to learning what works and what does not. He brings a rider's perspective to the project, and together we want to build bikes around real riding rather than one fixed specification.

WE SAW A GAP.

A lot of bike brands offer complete bikes with a fixed specification. We want to take a different approach. RYFT is being built around our own frames and a more flexible way of choosing the parts that make up the bike.

01

Our frame

We are designing our own frame platform as the foundation for the bikes we want to ride. Enduro and downhill first.

02

Your spec

Suspension, drivetrain, wheels, brakes, cockpit and finishing parts can be shaped around your preferences.

03

Keep riding

The goal is simple: make the build feel like your bike, not just a bike you happened to buy.

Where we are now

STILL AT THE START.

RYFT is a start-up. The frames are still being designed and we plan to start production in late 2028. We have not spoken with the brands shown on the website yet. They are brands we would like to work with, and we plan to reach out and try to build those relationships as RYFT develops. For now, the focus is on the frames, the idea and getting the details right.
